USMLE Step 2, Blueprints Q&A Step 2 Surgery (Blueprints Q&A Series), Edward W. Nelson-MD Michael Clement, 2004

Paperback: 184 pages
Publisher: Lippincott Williams & Wilkins; 2 edition (August 23, 2004)
Language: English

"The strengths of this book are its size and Q A format. Clinical vignettes and Q A styled questions allow for more active and focused learning., and there are a good number of images and radiographs. The material and level of difficulty are appropriate for Step 2." -Intern, Department of Surgery, Exempla St. Josephs Hospital, Denver, CO "I think the length of the book is perfect with 200 questions. Any shorter and it would not include some topics critical to the topic and any longer would risk someone not reading it due to time constraints. The book's strengths are the images and the format. The images are excellent." - Intern, General Surgery Resident, Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, MI, Clinical Instructor, Surgery Department, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI "This book covers a lot of different topics, with a good variety but without neglecting the common problems. In addition, the book gives good explanations for all the answer choices including a detailed reasoning of why the other answers are wrong. Yes, I would recommend this book." - Intern, Department of Surgery, University of South Alabama Medical Center, Mobile, AL

I LOVED this book. The questions were fantastic and the size is perfect for stuffing in your pocket so you can do a question or two in those oh-so-rare free moments. While the book is not designed to be used as a sole source of studying for the exam, the 200 questions it contains are a good review to make sure you are hitting important information in whatever text you are using. And, the questions more closely resemble (in length and content) those found on the Surgery shelf exam than other review books such as PreTest and NMS.
