Review
"The myth of the difficulty of the neurosciences for the average medical student is dispensed with this book.....This is a very useful book for health science students. The integration of real-life clinical cases with neuroscience concepts helps students to focus on the important aspects. This is a superb contribution to the field with little in common with other review books in this field. 4 Stars!"--Doody's Review Service (Doody's )

Yorum :I used this as a 3rd year medical student trying to pass the shelf exam. Having read several books in the case files series, I can say this is one of the better ones. It does a great job of introducing cases that are common, with a couple of zebras thrown in for fun. Each case is followed by a thorough explanation of the topic, and may go into too much detail on some items. You can rest assured that outside resources really aren't necessary to understand the topic at hand. It would be wise for you to have a background in basic neuroscience before picking up this book. Each case is introduced and then you are asked to come up with a guess. Without a basic understanding of neurological pathways and basic neuropathology, this book will be a frustrating tool. For the medical student in clerkships, however, it is perfect. You will find that it introduces topics that are very relevant to the shelf examination, and it will help you hone your clinical skills. In summary, it is a well written book, very clinically relevant, and a fast read.
